I have never written a blog before but thought it was time to try something new.

I guess the best way to start would be to explain why I decided to join SG.

I have been aware of the site for some time but never considered actively participating. Following some changes to my life in recent months I decided that I have always been a bit closed off and thought that widening my experience and interacting with new people would be good for me. I am a classic geek, as you'll see from my profile, into studying and books so anything other than introspection is a good thing for me. Like many of you I feel I have never really fitted in with the mainstream and this site seemed to be the best place to meet new people who are intelligent and open minded.
