Well, I'm here. I'm in Maryland. The whole experience thus far has been. . . mixed. Not the trip of my dreams, but not terrible. I get to go keep bees tomorrow so that should be good. Maybe I just need to get stung.
The east coast. I'm sorry to say, is not my cup of tea. That may be the biggest decidng factor for me. Am I willing to live someplace for five years that doesn't q u i t e do it for me? Who knows? I've still got time to decide.
So I met the venrable and renowned chiquita. It is a rare thing indeed to find an interesting biologist. Even rarer still to find an interesting attractive biologist. She, I can safely say, is both. And cooks a hell of a tofu/thai french fry. Thanks for everything babes.
I've been in a bit of an emotional valley lately. This, I'm hoping, will not negatively cloud my vision of this place. Who knows? October first would be my soonest arrival date so I've got some time to think.
