For fuck's sake. I'm never going to make it to Maryland. Some chemist who keeps bees as a hobby also applied for the job at the USDA and he and I both qualify. The kicker is that he's a veteran and has worker displacement privlege, so I have a snowball's chance in hell if it comes down to an actual decision between the two of us.

My contact is working on some creative solutions to this problem, but how do I end up not feeling like a wanker for taking a job from an out of work veteran? Bleh.
