My 2007 Letter to Santa Claus
Dear Santa,
I don't want anything for myself for Christmas. I have a job that sort of helps pay the bills, a great son and loving wife, and five kitties that think I'm great (especially when I feed them and clean their litter pan).
But I'd like you consider delivering gifts for the following people who really need and deserve them:
1. Mayor Don Williamson - A case of humble pie and a copy of Dale Carnegie's "How To Win Friends and Influence People". I think you know why...
2. The Voters of Flint - Prozac for those too apathetic and discouraged to vote. And a big dose of common sense for those who re-elected King Don.
3. To the teachers in the public schools of Flint - A big sack of love, patience and a free pass to Heaven when the time comes. They've had their dose of Hell already.
4. To the administrators and board of Flint Public Schools - A huge lump of coal. They should know why.
5. To the unengaged parents of students in the public schools of Flint - A sound whipping and a copy of any book on parenting practices. Oh since many probably don't like to read make it a DVD.
6. To the involved parents of students in the public schools of Flint - A big sack of love, patience and a free pass to Heaven when the time comes. They've had their dose of Hell already. They've earned it!
7. To the Flint City Council - Any book on political leadership. Heck any book on leadership would be great!
8. To the poor of Flint - Hope and love and a better 2008.
9. To the homeless of Flint - A warm place to lay their head and someone who cares about them.
10. To the mentally ill of Flint - Piece of mind, love and workers who care about them.
11. To the caring workers (far too few any more) of the poor, homeless and mentally ill of Flint - A big sack of love, patience and a free pass to Heaven when the time comes. They've had their dose of Hell already. (I was there in the trenches for 14 years and know how it was.)
12. To the "I don't want to be bothered, just give me my paycheck" workers and administrators of services for the poor, homeless and mentally ill of Flint - A sack of coal for each since they always want more for themselves, not others.
I know that this list has gotten long Santa, but I think I've covered the needs of Flint for now.
One last thing if you have the time, please spread love throughout our town as we need all the love we can get!
