File this under stupid
Ok so today we are working on a tower. It sucks but all is well at first. Then after we get all of the top end stuff done that we can I climb down....Here comes the stupid.
Ok so on this tower the climbing pegs are about 6 feet above where our 8 foot ladder could reach. I managed to get up ok with a lil help from a rope and a buddy....but getting down however.....another story.
i reach the bottom pegs and look down the 6 feet to the ladder below. then look past that to the ground 14 feet below. After very little thought I figured why not just slide down the rope to the ground.
Now mind you i have done this before and it ended fine. This time though....I failed to get a good grip on the rope before dismount and preceded to slide at break neck speed 14 feet to earth. On the way down I managed to completely blister my fingers on the rope which let me tell you does not feel even remotely good.
So now my hands are throbbing and feel like they are on fire.....man if i had a rewind button I tell ya.
