grayness

Yesterday was a bit exciting. There was a thunderstorm at work, lightning apparently came in through the phone lines, and we lost a server. Fortunately, its hard drives were intact, and two rather hectic hours later, my boss and I had them transplanted into an identical machine, and we were back up, pretty much good as new. Otherwise I would have been working most of last night to restore everything from backups and test it all before opening time today. I'm rather glad it didn't come down to that.

I'm hoping today will be less eventful....


I love these long days- it's nice to work about an hour later than usual, and get home while it's still twilight.
