One blog back I talked about Bob. Go read it if you haven't... please.
Today I took Mama and Baby and Claw and Fang [*] out for a little while. Fang in particular was enjoying it:
My nickname for Fang is "the trouble kitty" (well, also "Mr. Personality", but...) and about 15 seconds after the end of the video, he decided it was time to live up to his name, do something he hadn't done for a long time, and make a mad dash for the underbrush. So, scooping up Claw like a((n) American ) football and hoping that Mama and Baby would stay put, I launched into headlong pursuit. Poor Claw was a very good sport about it... but I was doing my best (insert football running back name of choice here) impersonation and the woods were doing an even better impersonation of a very tough defensive line.
Meanwhile, Fang: Hahahahahaha you thought I was too old for this Dad? I shall away! Catch me if you can!
Finally when it became all too obvious that I couldn't catch him... he had one of those "Uh oh, the big idiot isn't going to catch me..." moments... and ran back in a vaguely houseward direction as fast as he could go.
Extricating myself from a shroud of vines, I followed, and had the good fortune to zig around some bushes that Fang thought I was going to zag around. With my other arm I managed to scoop him up, and back to the house we went. Baby was outside the door, demanding in (No attendants! This is shoddy service! I want to leave! NOW!) I put Baby, Claw and Fang in, and went to find Mama... fortunately at this point she's a creature of habit and was easily found... although she then showed she's not as slow as you might think a 15 year old cat might be...
Oh and they had so begged and pleaded for some out time. Next time, it will have to be one at a time... and Mr. Innocently-sitting-on-my-shoulder Fang, read this: you are so not going to be one of the ones...
Eh, who am I kidding? And you know it. Just bear in mind your Dad is only so fast, and not nearly as good as you at finding the gaps in bushes.
[*] The others are thankfully never very interested- which is good because I can't take them - they would definitely be too fast for me to even have a remote chance to keep up.
