Grayb, I never know what to say when people tell me things like you wrote. I usually just hug them.

I always went for the dark literata being angsty in the corner. I agree that many people you meet these days didn't get any more mature than the 10th grade. Reading your blog and comments I should think you'd be surrounded by a large circle of intelligent, well-grounded friends. Then again, calm waters do tend to draw dinghies.

Hopefully it's not the swine flu, at my daughter's school there is 3 cases of children who have it. Hope you feel better

lol under wraps that's funny lol, thank you, a lot of people didn't like this blog but well I like to open people up to different ways of thinking
drewbeckett:
why thank you sir, and if there's a development you shall be told! its hard with film festivals and the like if the line-up isn't spot on. Sometimes your 'nothing ventured, nothing gained' mantra is worth remembering, but its also a lot of effort for an event which may turn out to have little to commend it. I hope that your weekend has been glorious, though, however you elected to spend it! much love sir

The day began poorly. I was supposed to drive in to Queens with my friends and attend a gala graduation celebration. Their nephew just completed his final two years of study abroad in Australia, the lucky bastard! I also had plans to make my way into Manhattan at some point to attend a second celebration. It didnt happen.

I woke up late, moved too slowly...

Thank you very much Grayb-I'll let everyone know what happens.

And you're right; maybe the council can be a positive force for change and I should not be so doubtful. What I do know, present company included, is that I have met wonderful and amazing people here that I would be sad to say farewell to

Ya can try the passive/aggressive approach:
get some of the Fox Urine powder, or take
some of your cat box refuse [ let it ferment a few days ]
and scatter it where you don't want the furry Bandito. If
from the cat-box where you won't Step in it. eeek

On another positive note. Lyrical, who's hardly on SG anymore contacted me the other day. She knew I might be worried about her since it was a while since we last corresponded. She gave me her new e-mail address so I don't have to through SG to message her anymore.

Interesting that she still cares enough to stay in touch and Mae-Ann, who constantly bad-mouthed her wound up being the one that left me high and dry. Of course, as I've come to realize, she did me a huge favor.

That's exactly why I kiss my sleeping daughter every night, and tell her I love her. Just in case.

Our esteemed Stephen Fry did a wonderful documentary on his experience of bipolarity, and it was terribly personal, showing those moments when he just couldn't engage with anyone, or even function in the most basic way. He talked to other people who were bipolar, such as Carrie Fisher, and Richard Dreyfus. But what was most interesting was how almost all of them had tried treatment (usually lithium) and rejected it. Because, despite all its downsides, their biploarity was an expression of themselves, and they were less of a person when they suppressed it. Often their biggest issues were with other people not understanding.

Anyway, that aside, it's good to have you back communicating.

You sure that headache isn't caused by the malt? wink

I need to get a new camera. I just came inside from watching the birds. There was quite an assemblage - Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, a Flicker and four other woodpeckers, Goldfinches, Red-Winged Blackbirds and Wild Turkeys across the river. I couldn't get a good picture of any of them. Maybe tomorrow.

You may have noticed that I haven't been around for the past few days....

What a nice thing to say. I rarely drink, only because I don't like the taste of alcohol. Lyrical used to make me some alcoholic concoction using mango juice. I couldn't taste the alcohol at all. It was very delicious..

I'm going to my daughter's singing group's semi-annual show this morning. It starts at 11:00am. There's going to be lots of food that the performers will be bringing that will be served after the show. Afterwards, we're going to the cemetery to visit Annettte's gravesite. It's going to be emotional for both Heather and myself I'm sure.

I wish you a wonderful day.

The overnight forecast chance of showers turned into a wild and windy hour long deluge. The clouds must be drained. Now were having a beautiful, sunny morning totally unlike that which was forecast.

Im hoping the heavy rain knocked some pollen out of the air as well. Im all for anything involving or encouraging propagation, but my allergies have been horrendous over the past few...
