Funny how music "speaks" to some people, and not to others.
I mean, there are people like me, to whom music is more than just background noise. Its a soundtrack for my thoughts, feelings and emotions. You can gauge my entire day by whats I'm listening to "right now" (" Prayers" by In This Moment actually), judge where I'm at by whats in heavy rotation on my iPod.
And for others, music is just....well...music. They have stuff they like, stuff they dont, and thats about as important as it gets.
I find it funny how certain songs at certain times just define your train of thought so well, you somehow think its a profound connection. This morning I was flipping through the channels and caught Pink's new video "So What", and my thought was Yeah! Shes SO right!
Yeah....so I agreed with Pink. You thought it would be something more hardcore....sorry to disappoint! LOL
But, looking back thought my old blogs, I realized, this is nothing new for me. Matchbox 20 (of all the bands in the world....Matchbox-F'ing-20?????) helped me deal with my divorce back when I was going through it. And to be honest, I dont even remember whose CD it was...I know I didnt pay $$$ for it.
So...what music helps YOU cope?

At this moment, I'm taking in the ultra heavy beats of KMFDM's TOHUVABOHU. But it could be White Stripes, Dylan, Velvet Undergroung, NIN, or Zappa--depends what I'm working on.
Come by and take a look. I'm able to be painting again.
