In a new study in South Korea, researchers performed MRI's on men inhaling perfume and found out how it affects the brain....for example, sniffing perfume activates some of the same areas stimulated by viewing erotic images including the inferior and middle frontal gyri. Perfume also lights up the insula, the same area which is activated during erections.... the fragrance also sends signals to the amygdala and hypothalamus, which regulate sexual behavior and primal urges. Perfume increases brain activity in regions essential to your sexual performance such as the median preoptic area.
