so i'm going to become a vegetarian again soon...back in the day i was veggie for about 5 years, but i backed out of it at my highschool graduation party when my dad made kickass ribs. now i love meat, i love it a lot. i do not love how animals are treated in factory farms. it is truly inhumane and horrific...i do support humane, locally raised, organic/all natural farming of meat animals. when i DO indulge myself of meat (which will be a once in awhile thing to keep myself from jonesin' too much), it will be from a local source where i know the animals were treated with dignity in life. i'm also doing the eating style change for health reasons...when you're a vegetarian you're forced to be creative with your cooking and to eat a wide variety of foods.
i'm thinking i'll go ahead and have meat for spanksgiving this year, but after that, i'll forego meat for a long time. i'll have turkey one last time...i love the turkey leg...mmm. i'll savour it this year, for it will be my last...next year is tofurky for me. don't make fun, i've had it before and it's pretty good. fake meat has come a LOOOONG way in recent years; dario is the most devout meateater i know, and my fake sloppy joe mix from fantastic foods had him FOOLED. he was sure he was eating real ground beef...he wasn't. it was soy. they sure have learned to manipulate the fuck out of soybeans in recent years...hell, i might not even need to cheat, except when i want steak. they haven't perfected fake steak yet, and probably never will...
