Suppose now is as good a time as any to update. Haven't been online much lately. Between having real, in the flesh company and how tiresome/predictible online communication has become, I'm enjoying the break.
I've come to find that not only do people feel less inhibited talking online, (which is a good thing) they also become more fickle, flakey, and downright self-absorbed (obviously not a good thing).
I'm probably not beyond either of those descriptions, but I can't recall ever being two-faced to a friend, personally insulting or rumor-spreading. Hypocritical finger-pointing has a permanent one-way ticket direct to under my skin.
I've lost site of the point of spending hours on end talking to people who are primarily trying not to be bored.
I'd rather spend time with good friends in person or on the phone. What a waste of time it is to concern oursleves with masses of people who forget about eachother as soon as the power switch is turned off.
It's like logging onto highschool. Empty threats, gossip, cliques, popularity contests, bullies, power-trippers, etc. All looking at everyone else thinking that they aren't nearly as absorbed by it all. BS.
No matter how seriously or not seriously you take it, it's still a huge, siphoning void.
Bleh.
Mostly I'm tired of being over-concerned with being concerned about said masses of people who probably wouldn't care or even notice if I slam danced with an oncoming bus.
Priorties is the word of the week.
