I haven't been typically using this blog feature lately but with friends scattered about the US this is probably the easiest way to keep you all up to date on the pregnancy and life in general. I just pased the 26 week mark with Charlotte and she's doing fine. She's abusing my uterus like a pro. I had a second sonogram on the 1st of March to check on the location of the placenta, which happens to be lying low. The one back in January showed the same thing. They'll probably follow-up again in a month or so and see if there are any changes.

I'd seen the doctor a week or so before and he terrified me, explaining that if the intermittent bleeding I've been experiencing didn't stop I could be hospitalized for a long time. He also said that I had reached the point of my pregnancy where she could live outside and if they had to deliver they could. I explained this to Mike and he took steps to gather what paperwork he needed from my doctor to bring to his supervisors and possibly have his deployment deferred so that he could be home in case I needed to be hospitalized.

As soon as we approached the clinic asking them to write a letter stating that I'd be better off with Mike not deployed, they explained that there really is no medical reason to hold him back. Even though the second sonogram showed no change. Confused and a bit shaken with the mixed information we cut our losses and hoped for the best.

Turned out that Mike ended up deploying yesterday and is currently en route to his temporary duty station. He'll be gone for 6 months. The best we can do is hope he'll be able to return for the baby's birth.

That's all the exciting bits of news going on. Everything else is pretty typical. I'll continue to gear up the nursery and prepare for Charlotte's arrival. Hopefully the time will fly by quickly.
