So my mother calls me at 6 this morning and leaves a voicemail for me asking about Halloween on Castro last night. She was worried because apparently 10 people got shot... which is incredible seeing as I only saw one get shot. 
But TEN? Plus one stabbing!?!
It was totally surreal - me my room mate and this girl we met at a bus stop just sat down to drink our beer when all the sudden there are a bunch of of loud popping noises not more than 50 feet away from us. We're thinking, fireworks? Then people start to scream there are more popping noises and like a herd of gazelles they start to RUN. People were hauling ass, stompeding right over the police security fences. Lindsey, our bus stop friend, said that it didn't sound like real gun shots, which it didn't, but then as the police drive up I see through the crowd of people a guy lying on the sidewalk right where all the pops came from. How fucked is that? All before 11 pm too - and they thought a curfew would make it safer!
This is like the Woodstock 99' of Halloween on Castro.
