but i feel something holding me back and i cant
is it the fear
of just being here
letting people hear
about things that i endear
no it cant be that way
i have things to say
i might not get paid
but i'll show you the way

avoid an early grave

with the letters i paved
yes it was my choice
but i still have my voice
and i will shout from above
about this thing called love
and how to spread the joy
life is a toy
it's a game you play
just use each day
to forget is a crime
we don't have much time
make it count right now
i can't tell you how
it's your life, your path
you do the math
it is your responsibility
to find your own tranquility
use your every ability
and happiness can be found
in a flower on the ground
in the breeze
through the trees
or on your knees
if you please

those are just letters to me
to each his own
because we're all thrown
into this life
and through our strife
we must prevail or die
achieve your goals or sigh
but even if you die trying
at least you were vying
to be something more
than another closed door
