I'm going to vote today...I'm not entirely sure why, principle of the thing, I guess. I don't actually know who the candidates are or what they stand for. I know I am not the only one who believes that the ballots should have a description of the candidates' backgrounds & platforms beside their names!

I applied for financial aid (for school) yesterday & got approved overnight. My expected contribution is $0. I find that unlikely considering the high cost of school these days, but at least I know the government is going to continue to help out us single mothers. My mom said she wouldn't babysit for me to go back to school unless I picked a major. Then, she didn't seem thrilled on the phone this morning when I said I was majoring in philosophy. She'll get over it, though. I was meant to think deep thoughts, damn it. I also found out yesterday that registration started a few days ago which means I better get my ass in gear & pick out my classes tonight. My friend Michael is supposed to be coming over later & bringing me a copy of the class schedules, so I can pick out mine. I have to take at least 2 philosophy classes & I'll probably take 2 filler classes, just so I'll be full-time, but not overworked. Maybe pottery or something...

I tried to give Kagome some rice cereal last night for the first time. She was not impressed, and yet, she seemed to sleep better. I still don't know for sure how long I intend to breastfeed. Maybe I'll keep it up until I start classes in January.

Katana has discovered my DVD/VCR player with a vengence. Every time I turn around she is pushing buttons on it & sticking things in the VCR & opening DVD cases, getting her grubby hands all over the discs. I don't really know what to do about that. I guess I'll have to move the DVDs to another room & try to place the player on top of the TV if it will reach. She's also now obsessed with The Little Mermaid movie. Someone please send me Aladdin! I'll also accept Beauty & the Beast. LOL.
