Going up today with the lead instructor for 3 landings, this has been my plague for the past month or so. I just couldn't seem to nail them, or "grease" them, even tho they weren't unsafe, they haven't been great, but as of my last lesson I think the lightbulb turned on, and they've improved. This has been my greatest hurdle before my solo flight, and once I get this done, I can solo.
I got an interveiw for a position in the NOAA Corps, which is a uniformed branch of the national weather service, operating all the research ships. I however, hope to get into their aviation program and fly, eventully even the famous Hurricane Hunter. Its not that I don't like fire anymore, but I don't like only beig employed for 6 months especially when the fire season is shitty and I don't have any extra cash saved up because we haven't had any fires. Besides, I figure, if I'm able to fly the hurricane hunter, then when I retire from NOAA (if I get it) I can go work for one of the contractors and fly fires instead of being a grunt on the ground. So we'll see how the deck is stacked for me, as of late its been good.
EDIT: What the Fuck! We went up and I got 2 good landings in, but then it all went down the shit tubes and I couldn't land to save my life, like it just left. So I'm going up with my regular instructor tomorrow to figure out what happened, as well as he is going to talk with the training cadre and see what we can do, because this is getting fucking rediculous.
