"greater a love hath no man than this, a man lay down his life for his friends" For long, I've always held this bible quote close, mostly because it describes what it is that I do. Today, I was able to see it in action. I was the one in trouble. My crew responded to a report of a fire off the backside of our mountain, after we got the fire taken care of, we started hiking out back to the trucks. Almost to the top the ground got extremely steep and the soil loose. So loose, a rock started to slide out from under me, with my arm pinned under the rock, I slid or "surfed" for about 30-40 feet until one of the guys got in the way, reached out and grabbed my firepack to keep me from going further down hill. Thanks to him, without his help, I could have slid further down hill, and possibly injured myself more than what I came out of it with, a little road rash and a sore probably bruised arm. On the way back to our station, my engine boss suggested that I send out a message saying "send me pictures of boobs, I almost died today". Therefore, I'm throwing that out there, so, send me pictures of boobs, I almost died today.
