googused

So I applied for a job as a dispatcher with the city about 6 months ago and went through a bunch of tortuous interviews that all ammounted to nothing...until yesterday. I get a call to come in for a 'foillow--up'. The guy says the position has reopened and the reason they didn't hire me before was that the city made them hire some cops that were being laid off instead. Now it's down to me and one other person. The job is 'permanent part-time' with only 3 guaranteed shifts a week, but the benefits are killer!
