Nukes play a huge role in the world today. I'd like to place them front and center.
Today's topic is going to be Mutually Assured Destruction.
Mutually Assured Destruction is beautiful when you think about. Almost like stalemate. Similar concepts, anyway. Like stalemate is the perfect conclusion to one of the most beautiful battles of wit one can witness, MAD is the result of a heated technological battle. The difference between stalemate and MAD is stalemate is the end all be all, MAD, not so much. There is always one more scene on the stage of an arms race that culminates in MAD, that is of course, the destruction itself. The concept of MAD is to actually prevent that destruction, sort of an "You'll kill me, but I'll still kill you." So far it has worked. Obviously we're still here. So is Russia. This is why we actually have such a fear of North Korea and Iran gaining nuclear weapons, we believe that the concepts of MAD will be quite lost on them, and that they will use the weaponry they have, without fear of being destroyed. They will be destroyed.
This is actually what I've been thinking about that brings me to this post. It has long been my goal to exterminate human beings from the face of the planet, something sort of abandoned in lieu of seeking knowledge. However, I've also been talking a bit about world domination and such, and how if I were to take over the world, I would leave Russia alone and we'll live out our lives the way the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R. did during the Cold War, with MAD keeping us safe, but in constant fear. However, since I also have the goal of exterminating humanity, MAD is something that I can completely ignore, because, well, it would make me relatively unstoppable. Having no fear helps with achieving your goals, it truly does. They won't be able to threaten me much in my bid for world dominance, and then once I have achieved it, or even before, if they (ambiguous pronoun referring to any of the countries of the world with nuclear arms) are brave and "launch their shit" well, that would help to achieve my second goal. So no matter what happens, really, I win.
Of course, there's no way I can be certain that every human on the planet has perished, but it really doesn't matter. Enough damage will be done that life as we know it will end. There will likely be no recovery for the human race. In fact, if we manage to recover, I would be truly amazed, and that would just contribute to my belief that we are a cancer. Fucking hard to kill.
Of course, it is highly likely that I will not be the one to do this. I'm crazy enough, yes, but if I were to do something like this, I would want it to be perfect, and there's far too much that could go wrong in a mad bid for power like this, so it is likely that I will allow it to pass on to another visionary, or just sit back and watch as we eventually kill ourselves off anyway, because I know that will happen. Just not sure if it will happen quickly enough for my tastes.
Enjoy your day
