When I say everything is splendid, I mean it.
Remember a few weeks ago, when I was still in the midst of school projects and busy work schedules? As busy as I was, I had plenty of time for updates. Well, now that I have all this time "free", I ought to have even more time for updates, right?
Wrong.
I have been spending more time away from the computer these days. In the week and a half since my last class, I have spent at least part of every day with my new guy. Last Thursday night to friday morning... Then of course there was the campout last weekend... lots of fun. It even rained- and I love thunderstorms. Especially when I'm in a tent. So even after the weekend together, I spent Monday night, Wed night, thurs night, and last night at his house (even if some of those times I arrived rather late, and often left rather early in the morning). You know how much it sucks to sleep alone. You know how much I complain. That single complaint has been the major theme of my journal over the last year. What will I complain about now?
We saw Episode III on wed night. I was very impressed... I thought it was better than the first two, even comparable to the original 3. Sure, the dialogue still sucked, but that's to be expected. It's hard to find an actor who can make cheesy lines work... like Harrison Ford did. Damn, Han Solo is a sexy mofo. It's a shame Hayden is such a hottie but then he opens his mouth and whines "It's not fair!" I want more of the hotness like in Empire.
Another thing- it felt kind of rushed in certain scenes, like they were trying to fit too much into a short time. Maybe there will be a nice fat director's cut.
My sister's birthday was Thursday, so she and I and my Dad went canoeing on the Lehigh River. It was a lovely day... nice and warm, and the river was fast and rippling full of good waves. We switched off so part of the time I was in the middle cruising along, and part of the time I was in the stern steering. We stopped at one point and played with a tributary, making dams and diverting the flows to make new channels... these are the kind of games we played when we were kids. I have some pictures, but they are still in my camera cuz I haven't been home much at all.
Life is full and happy right now. Goob is too busy to clean the Little Apartment, it is true... and the bike is in the closet still, but there's a content feeling inside me. Tonight I am taking Debbie to a concert at the theatre- we have lots of catching up to do.
There's a good chance I will end up at my man's place again tonight. I didn't get much alone time with him last night- we had not been awake for long this morning before his daughter came in (and almost caught us!) She's lots of fun... gives me all kinds of fuzzy maternal feelings inside me. Kinda scary, actually. Eek!
She called me "mom" by accident this morning. I think "melanie" is too close to "mom". She caught herself and changed it though.
I took a picture of her all snuggled up leaning on her sleeping Daddy's butt, watching TV. It's a cute little scene- maybe I'll post that picture here later. With his permission, of course. I know some people are hesitant to post family pics here.
What's the plans for the next few weeks? Well, next Friday is an SG Philly event to which I hope to bring my Holly. I haven't even asked her yet if she is free. Then later that evening, Turkey is having a BBQ. The next day, me and Holly are going to a Star Trek Convention (yes, my life is getting dorkier by the second. I love it!) and in the evening Teejay is having a pool party. Then Sunday is the memorial day bbq at my Granny's house.
I love the summertime. Everything is filling up with fun so easily! I love it when things come together like this, with few conflicts of schedule.
Oh, forgot to mention one more thing. The next Goob Party is scheduled for Friday, June 3rd. That's only a couple weeks away, so mark your calendars!
I'm at work, so I should probably do some more work.
