Goob's top 10 Christmas songs:
1. Snoopy's Christmas (Royal Guardsmen)
2. Blue Christmas (Elvis Presley)
3. The 12 Days of Christmas (the Muppets)
4. The Christians and the Pagans (Dar Williams)
5. Christmas Eve, Sarajevo (Trans Siberian Orchestra)
6. Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire (Nat King Cole)
7. Little Drummer Boy (the corniest version you can find)
8. Christmas (the Who, from Tommy)
9. White Christmas (most versions of it)
10. Silver Bells. Yeah, I'm a dork, I really like that song.
Busy busy Goob.
This week I've actually gotten into some kind of "spirit" and I downloaded a bunch of Christmas songs.
Particularly Elvis.
Yeah, I know it's silly. I used to hate Elvis... then somewhere along the way I changed my mind. So I have a couple hours worth of Christmas songs in my computer now. That includes Snoopy vs. the Red Baron and the Muppets doing the 12 Days of Christmas, of course. And Blue Christmas.
Gotta go write my Christmas cards up so I can mail them tomorrow, so people actually get them before the holiday. I'm such a terrible procrastinator... I don't think I've ever gotten them done before Dec 20th, ever. I know at least one year I dropped them in the mailbox Dec 24th, on the way to my Granny's house for dinner.
Yes, that is one of my most loved nights of the year. Christmas Eve at my Granny's house. How many times a year do you get all the babka you can eat? My Granny makes a huge meal. Fish and pierogies and stuff... with so many desserts. Fruitcake has such a bad rep, but Granny's is to die for. Seriously. My family is awesome.
Christmas Eve I get to work with aragorn97 and Micah until 2. That's gonna be so much fun. I love my Box Office Boys. It doesn't bother me that I make so little money... It's worth it to actually enjoy my job.
I like my other job, too, though. Things are going pretty good right now. If only I had more time to work more at the restaurant, so I could actually make rent this month... and pay the $126.00 electric bill for this month.
And when am I ever going to find time to bake cookies?
