Just got home from the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Gaa... my throat is aaallllll torn up.
What a weekend, though- pretty fucking awesome. So many adventures, so many people, so many stories. Goob loves the Folk Fest more than just about anything. Ran into old friends, made new friends... signed bare asses and painted little children. Danced, sang, drank, laughed, did a walkabout through the campground late Saturday night in my underwear. Took my Mom to get her boobs painted. Learned to juggle, a little bit. Sat in the sweltering sticky hot field to see Taj Mahal. Got to see Da Vinci's Notebook's final show together- it was a good one. The final act last night was John Prine, and he blew me away. I didn't realize how amazing he was until halfway through his set I had a huge grin on my face and near tears in my eyes. Who would have thought? Well, the emotions rose up in me last night and I didn't need to drink or smoke anything to stay high all night. All natural bliss. I have 225 pictures in my camera. Oh, the pictures are so fun! I will do my best to get them sorted, resized, and posted as soon as possible. Probably just to my website. There are many people waiting to see them.
I was up until sunrise Friday night and Saturday night, and nearly sunrise Thursday night and last night. The moon was out every night, huge and bright with wispy clouds racing across. Last night it was full and glorious. This morning I got up super early and dismantled my campsite- I had everything packed and ready to go by 10am, made it home by 11 to get an hour more of sleep and a nice hot shower, then took the train to the University for my first class. It's a once a week class, which means 3 hours long. I didn't even get 3 hours of sleep last night, and barely more than that for three nights before that. I am delirious and dazed. And I have class again tomorrow, and work in the evening, and I start my new job Wednesday...
This has been such an awesome summer... I love my life right now. Folk Fest'll do that to you though. I am excited to see what the autumn will bring. Mmm... in my mind I smell leaves on the ground and I am wearing long pants in the forest. There's a shiny pumpkin there, too. My mind likes to play that imagination game. Yes, I am a little dreamy delirious right now.
I wonder what the rest of the world was up to while I was gone away? For you it was only four days... for me, it was saturation. Saturation of events. Not one moment bored, not one moment unloved. Even the groggy sweaty hangover mornings, waking up in a tent like a sauna, are happy memories now. Enough to last me until next summer.
Enough rambling. Now I will go sleeeeep. *yawn* Goodnight, moon.

I missed all the day concerts :/ I couldn't take the heat like I use to...(Plus I got there Saturday around 7ish so I had alot of catching up to do with people)
Wasn't it weird this year like the concert grounds when I first walked up to it I was like damn what happened.

And wow to your good timing of leaving. I got up around 10ish and didn't leave till around noon.
