2008. a summary.
- moved from Brooklyn to Queens
- started and finished my first half of my schooling at NYU. got a 3.5 GPA
- spent the first half of the year in a vagina desert. spent the second half of the year drowning in it.
- got a root canal. the crown of which just popped off.
- started my second book. still only 60 pages into it. plan on writing tonight and tomorrow night.
- went to Argentina. got my phone stolen by a hooker. tried to pick up girls in a bar who ended up being in high school.
- saw The Pogues
- got a much better paying job
- went to Orlando. got hammered. saw a lot of friends i miss considerably.
- within the final few days of the year, met a girl i have an extreme fondness for. i'm hoping her plan to move to nyc by the end of the year will pan out.
- speaking of which, there's two girls who i've been holding a candle for for years now. both candles are now extinguished. it's a strange, strange feeling.
- i discovered i have a taste for beets
- read a number of books including The Art of War (Sun Tsu), Breakfast of Champions (Kurt Vonnegut), Haunted (Chuck Palahniuk), The Time Machine & The Invisible Man (HG Wells), Ubik (Philip K Dick), and many others. not to mention the wealth of material i had to read for school. or the hundreds of issues of comics.
- had not one, but two abscesses in a very unpleasant area of my body.
- turned my myspace blog into a weird hybrid of blog and fiction. i don't update it as often as i'd like.
- got a cell phone that can do something other than receive phone calls. and now i rarely use it to make phone calls.
- didn't get a single new tattoo or piercing.
- did a lot of soul searching. still didn't find it.
- came to realize that Wysh was right in the strange thing he said about the difference between how he and i operate.
- cooked a lot of chicken
