for those of you who know i like to write and may sometimes wonder about the stories of which i write, here is an excerpt from a short story of mine called "DjerRUckqS" (say it out phonetically).

-Six Months Ago-
I wake up and find Vanessa sitting on the couch in an entirely unnatural position. Her chameleon-esque eyes are looking in two, different directions and her breathing is deep and erratic. Her left hand slowly twitches in a disturbingly, non-rhythmic pattern. She tries to say something, but I dont understand the syllables.
What is it, honey? I ask.
Fishes.breathepeanutfire she manages to say.
Crap, I think and lower my head. The Delirium has complete control of her. Itll be hours before shes coherent again. She must have read a dose in the middle of the night.
Againagain I hear her say. You rarely hear two words in a row when someone is wacked-out on Delirium.
Whatd you say, babe?
Againhitme she croaks out. It sounds like her voice is a mixture of frogs and gravel.
What time did you take your dose at? I ask. Not only should I not be entertaining her, but I dont even know why Im expecting an answer.
Figs! she screams out and knees herself in the head.
Its at this point that I realize what I need to come to terms with: Vanessa is addicted to Delirium.
