Hmm, it's strange just being freshly back on SG - kinda like having moved away from town for a few years. All your friends have moved on, and although you kinda would like to just step back in, you also realize that it was your choice to leave. Such is life I guess...

Anyhow, I feel that I'm approaching a career nexus once again. I've pretty much gone as far as possible in my current firm - I report to the el presidente, but the culture of the firm is nosediving with his recruitment of some numbers-first types. I'm a people-first type, so the writings on the wall despite CEO venting about the culture shift to me... he just won't take it up with the offending parties. I think it's time to leave and start my own consultancy with a couple good partners. Enough of the work stuff.

Today was great, I'm still on vacation - picked up the new iPhone this morning made a ridiculous salad to go with an amazing Sockeye salmon bbq'd by some close friends, then went for a sunset kayak till my arms felt like they'd fall off! What's not to love - I'm so grateful for everything in my life. I really am. My complaints and woes seem so trivial compared with some of the struggles I've become more aware of around me. Life is beautiful, but it can be cruel and cold, can't it...
