So last night I discovered a leak in the water line from the street to my house... water pouring out from beneath my concrete steps. City arrives at 10 to shut off water to my house - eek, but now I have water thanks to generous neighbors hose connecting to my house. This all sounds expensive to me...

Then today as I continue with prep for painting I discover some wood rot at base of an exterior wall. Turns out I've had carpenter ants and they've basically eaten all the wood that sits on the foundation - house has even settled a 1/2 inch or so - guess that's how my ceiling cracked

This is looking like an expensive week for me, BUT this place will not beat me damn it! Can't bring myself to sell... the devil you know and all. At least I got to bbq with some good friends tonight, drink some wine... had wanted to go see Dina play at the Coppertank, but guess it'll be next time, c'est la vie.

Hope everyone else's nests are holding together better than this one... more mud and twigs I guess...
