We buried my grandfather today. Wow, was that tough. My Grandfather was an incredible man. Honest, compassionate, intelligent and funny. He graduated fom Princeton. There was one time, in early janurary that his model a wouldn't start. He asked the first person to come along to help push his car to start it. That man was a visiting professor by the name of Albert Einstein. He was a brilliant engineer and the structures that he has built will remain a testament to the man he was. Among these are the space needles. He was inventing on the day he died. He was helping me start a concrete gel injection business, which I will make him proud in turning into a success, and was rebuilding the injectors with new ideas that we had discussed in mind.
He could come up with a dozen solutions to any problem where others were struggling with one. He designed the machine that cans vienna sausages, the machine that packages Fritos (along with helping invent the frito). At 90 years old he was still building machines in his garage. He has designed hydraulic jacks and built them himself. Not even losing his voicebox 5 years ago slowed him down, in fact, I think it made him even more animated and expressive. He was the biggest, most intelligent person I have ever known yet I never felt intimidated by him. He was a truly good and decent person and I loved him alot.
I am proud to be named after him. I only hope I can make him proud of me.
