I've resisted getting a QFC Advantage Card out of just instinctual indignation. I don't want to carry a card, I don't want my purchases tracked, and I don't like being financially electro-prodded into helping QFC do its marketing and purchasing. But then, of course, I feel like a rube whenever I pay an extra dollar-fifty for a half-rack of Rainier.

I've gone from pleasant lounging to realizing that I'm doing a patented Rob L.-Paul H. trick: the manufactured work/life crisis. I've been so blas and offering no mental resistance to it--why? hoping that I'd just snap out of it?--and now I've got a *lot* to do and have to do it tout de suite and I'm entering the early stages of manic freak-out (far preferable...

...yeah, either that or a big big dose of prozac!

Is "Orly" a reference to the airport? What's "seatac?"
Let's see, why does today suck? Could be because i have this horrible cold that has my nose running like a faucet, or it could be because someone FUCKING STOLE MY CAR FROM IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE LAST NIGHT! Goddammit, i can't believe it. So i call the cops, and they're like, "Well, 90% of the time, the car will be retrieved in less...

holy shit -- where the hell do you live in Seattle? Are you sure you didn't just misplace your car? Did they get the Creedence tapes?
boojiboy:
I though it just crapped out on you from our conversation. Can't sleep.... That's fucked. Watch for the big kids in the back of the bus. They'll give you gnarly swirlies, and steal your milk money.
Taxes ahoy!

When i was in college i had three tapes i would listen to all night while i was in the painting studio one year: Boo Radleys "Everything's alright Forever" on one side, House of Love "Spy in the House of Love" on the other; Field Mice "For Keeps" on one side, Pale Saints "In Ribbons" on the other; Velocity Girl "Copacetic" on one side, Heavenly...

Ellensburg is a traditional stop for me when I criss-cross Washington. Sort of like Sutherlund, OR is one when I go from Sacramento to Seattle.
My favorite Veolcity Girl song is actually off of "Gilded Stars and Zealous Hearts". I do understand what you mean about tVelocity Girl's lack of progression. They just sort of got stuck, though I do enjoy popping in a tune from them from time to time and enjoying simple things.

Should you *want* to be judged by your bathroom reading? I just realized that the two magazines in there right now are Jane and Scientific American. (On Jane's cover: "The Newest Sex Position: Better Clear Your Schedule"; on SciAm's cover: "Micromachines Rewrite the Future of Data Storage." I don't want to talk about it.)

Okay, it's almost Christmas, but what am i most eagerly awaiting? My SG mix CDs, which should be arriving...hopefully before 2003. I'm about as far from Boston as you can get, so i don't know when to expect them, but i do know to expect a lot of stuff i've never heard before.
I just got a big package of tax form stuff today; this...

you are so right about it being hard to pick fie best u.k. albums. thats why i asked it's almost damn near impossible i can think of about 200 off the top of my head. i wish i would have thought about the boo radelys though damn thats good even if it wasn't on your list still cool.
Just saw "Birthday Girl w/ Nicole Kidman. Kind of hard to classify; a bit of a black comedy/thriller love story kind movie. I could easily see it being made by Tarantino or Ritchie or Soderburgh, but it would be far more obvious.

I can't believe you actually figured out how many people participated by using the data I posted in my journal. If you want a full list, check out the thread, I've got everyone there.
I figured maybe seatac was another airport. Now it all makes sense.
i've been hesitating getting one of those. actually, i think my roommate has one for me, but i just use his when he's around and don't bother when he's not.
wanna trade, if i can find mine?
