I'm better today. I was a little riled up because I changed the way I looked and people treated me differently because of it. It upsets me that hair color and clothing makes that sort of a impact. I guess I should try to clarify a little: I've been living out of boxes since I've arrived here in MT. So I've just been sort of getting used to a new place, going to new classes (Montana State U) and not really spending much effort on outward appearances. A couple of days ago I stepped out of the shower and realized I had the makings of a SERIOUS mullet. Really....I looked like a wookie. So I cut my hair the way I like it, re-colored it and decided it was time to unpack my clothes. So I show up to my classes/work looking "normal" and suddenly people start talking to me. It was like that across the board. I guess it's a silly thing to be upset about but I've been here several months and now poeple suddenly want to talk to me 'cause I look "cool" or "goth" or whatever?! What is the deal?! (pant, pant)

Meawhile, back in Gotham City....
I got so wrapped up in yesterday that I forgot to share my most recent social blunder. I was working in the fossil lab at the museum today and asked the girl I was working with if she planned to go to the Paleo discussion group tomorrow. She said "no" because she found the discussion un-stimulating. "Oh" I said and without thinking continued..."and what DO you find stimulating?" I could hear the entire museum screech to a halt. I tried to get out of it but all I could come up with was a sneaky grin. I ran away to work on my Lambeosaur femur feeling a bit like I was living an episode of friends. Stimulating. blush
