It's grim what we've done to the environment, and in the end it's going to kill us all--it won't be the bomb or an asteroid, we're just going to outgrow this planet. Back in the 60s doomsayers tried to warn the world about the effects of overpopulation, but their warnings went unheeded. We can grow more food with our fancy fertilizers to feed the teemings billions, but at what cost? The toxic run off from farms into the waterways suffocates lake and ocean wildlife. We can squawk about trying to reduce emisions and going back to natural farming, but the real problem is too many people. When are the braindead going to wake up to birth control? After we're all dead?

When we get the red tide here the smell is almost sweet. Hopefully the hurricane you guys are going to get will clean t all up
