What does SG really value?

I have noticed that since the turn of the new year, the site and its owners have chosen to highlight a lot of sets from past years that have gotten a lot of love for a long time. The SGs that have been showcased in these Sets of the Day have also been pink for a long time in most cases and are very popular. That’s all well and good, I suppose, but I don’t really understand it in the light of the fact that there are so many worthy candidate Hopefuls who have never gotten their day in the sun here. It gives me some pause when I think about the site’s alleged mission and values. Does it exist to promote the most popular models based on conventional beauty standards? (Especially since what was alternative 20 years ago has now become fairly mainstream, thanks in no small part to sites like this.) There are a lot of women who have waited for a very long time for their recognition as full SuicideGirls in this community, have given a lot to it over the years, and have fallen through the cracks for whatever reasons despite having multiple sets that appear to meet the arbitrary and mysterious thresholds for SOTD status. What would it cost the site and its overlords to simply do the right thing here? I have reached out to Penny and she says she agrees although it’s not up to her. I sometimes wonder if the site hasn’t lost its way.

Not sure if anyone will read this and care about it, but it’s been on my mind and I wanted to put it on the record here.

Facts. I noticed that some popular insta models went pink here after posting 1 set and nothing else and they are not even a bit alternative. Menwhile some girls post for 10 years and stay hopeful. So idk how much do I wanna spend my time and money to make exclusive sets for the site

If you look at the old sets from back in the beginning, it’s clear the site really wanted to lean into a gritty, edgy alternative aesthetic. I know things change over time naturally, but they’ve definitely gone away from that in the past 5-10 years. At some point you have to wonder what the goals are now.
