This past weekend I concluded my Spring break by going to a 10,000 person party featuring Infected Mushroom and Benny Bennasi. I danced, I laughed, I hugged people, I kissed my hand wishing my boyfriend had gone, and lucked out that my car wasn't broken into. I was toting my PC, clothes, and many priceless posessions in my car which I parked in a free alley behind a large white van. I meditated about this during my dancing and came to the conclusion that if all my things were stolen, it wouldn't have made a difference in my level of happiness about life. (I'm really quite happy it was not broken into though; I shant be that foolish and impatient in the future.)

Here's a photo my friend took of me with a green bracelet. This is the only bracelet I will ever wear to parties as it is the one my friend Shawn gave me. He took me to my very first party when I was 18. At first I was scared of him but later realized that the drugs threw me into a paranoid state. I was acting irrationally. He taught me that accepting happiness, avoiding negativity, and living life happy (Happy was his raver name) is what makes feeling alive perfectly possible. He died crossing the Bay Bridge about a year ago after a party in Oakland. He had no ride and was hit by a car at around 4 am. I grasped my bracelet, smiled, and danced with him this weekend. Every beat I felt pulse through me I sent out to him in whichever realm he now lies.
