my family back a few years on my mom's side are Ojibway (aka Chippewa).
they were attacked by some Sioux who killed my great-great grandfather.....so grandma told me.
her father was saved when his mother swam across a river with him on her to back to escape.
she used to tell me all sorts of great stories.
miss her lots.
she told me what my "real" name is/was when i was little, but i forgot, then she died.
have to go up to the reservation someday and look it up.
