It's not just dirty hippies, it's also punk kids dressing up and playing anarchist, and ultra-dogmatic socialists, and genuine crazy people... and a whole bunch of well-informed folks genuinely concerned with issues of global poverty economic imperialism. Sometimes I think the latter are in the majority, sometimes not. In any case, they never seem to get the spotlight and the rest of the folks run around giving the mainstream press easy images to vilify the entire movement...

I stayed home myself, because from everything I heard it was just a bunch of people sitting around waiting to be arrested. The left needs to come up with some new strategies, methinks.
