I really, really dislike interviews. I guess the point is to come out with a clear understanding of where you sit and what you have that you can offer the company. In that way I go into them understanding that I'm probably going to come out at least a bit shaken.

It never seems to stop sucking though. I swear the biggest reason I wish I was still employed was so I wouldn't have to deal with the walk out of meetings thinking "person one thinks I'm an idiot because I don't know enough for him about sql functions, person two because I don't know enough about Messaging protocols and person three because I haven't used enough testing and organizational tools."

I think it'd suck less if I didn't know where I come up short but such analysis was a habit I picked up in Uni. Back then marking all the questions I didn't know (seperate marking for ones I was simply unsure of) could help for future tests... but now just kinda gets me down since every tech interview seems to be looking for a different set of skills.

Every time I have a "period of increased free time" I try and take comfort from the fact I get more Warcaft time. Unfortunately, apparantly the only people that play during the day are idiots (and myself, of course).

My advice to you: Do not stand on a bridge and draw a dragon's flame attack while the healer is still behind you on the bridge. If you do this, be aware that running away takes you entirely out of the healer's range as you are putting fire between yourself and him. Should you do both of these things, at least don't bitch about lack of heals.

That may not apply to many people but I feel it should be somewhere on record as such behaviour seems to be the norm and not the exception in daytime questing..

I also started work on my first "web project" outside of a company and I definately miss having four monitors. I am really quite tempted at this point to go and buy a new video card just so I can save some desk real estate... I like visual studio but it alone requires a monitor and a half... adding an open web browser for preview makes my generally spacious dual setup kinda cramped. Also, 1.5 gigs of ram just isn't enough when you're running Vista 64 AND SQL Server Express AND Web Developer Express AND Firefox AND Itunes AND Windows Mail. I would run out and buy some stick right now if not for the pointlessness of buying DDR ram in a DDR2/3 world.

I get bored easily. And when bored, I sometimes number-crunch. Through this I found out the equally amusing facts that 2000 was a day before the longest night of the year, and 3000 is the day before my 34th birthday. For a depressing factoid, I find that neat.

Yep. smile There's a different actress playing Willow. I'm glad she was replaced.
