Things I've learned since posting:
1-I can, in fact, actually see myself moving to the states. It isn't on the top of my list but if push came to shove I would say yes to adventure. Good to know, methinks, even if a move (should it occur) ends up not being quite so drastic
2-I really don't like business. Being in a meeting for more than 30 minutes, unless we're planning, correcting or testing software makes me jumpy and cranky. This, I imagine isn't news but it has come up enough recently that I feel it should be noted.
3-I really do enjoy poker but I enjoy it more when everyone's playing. It makes me feel like a bad host (whether I'm hosting or not)... running out of chips generally seems to mean falling out of the conversation circle as well so you lose both money and 2-way social contact. A pity, says I. All poker games should come with an adjacent x-box 360 and guitar hero to balance things out.
4-No hardware update, regardless of how trivial it *should* be, can be guaranteed to be a 20 minute job. Especially if you`re running 64 bit Vista and just bought a 1Tb SATA drive which you are adding to a system which previously only used PATA drives.
5-Peggle is a great game. No, really. Trust me.
I suppose that should do for now. Work has decided we need to do 50 hour weeks for a bit and even just the idea of that makes me tired. Go figure.
