Whatever happened to originality-
she thought
as she sat on the couch
in a room full of look-a-like lesbians
short hair, spiked up,
tank tops, muscle tees...

this...

supposed alternative look
is becoming way too mainstream

and I,
wanted to get a piercing
but I realized if I did
I'd look just like everyone else
so I resisted putting metal in my face
just so I could fit in here
fit in somewhere

I thought- does having a piercing make me
any more me
when it isn't me...

I dyed my hair red
because I always wanted red hair
and I'm considering getting a tattoo
but not one meant for display

Because I'm trying to keep my originality
which exists within the confines of my
multiple personalities-

the angel. the devil. The godess. The god.
The queen, the fairy, the jester and king-
I don't need to look like the rest of you
to be strong, to be an individual-
I can have my own style
march to my own fucking drum
