Hey ho, gonna try and make this a totally positive entry. Had a quiet lazy weekend, just the way it was designed. Tired today but baseball and MotoGP overnight last night will do that to the elderly. I've only got one article to work on this week, but it's a biggie.
It has to do with the old tradition we British have of giving away our culture to the world and then letting those others develop what we give them whilst we stand still and do nothing. We did it with sport in so many different cases, cricket, rugby and football being the obvious examples.
What i'm working on is the American dream of working hard and buying a house, which used to be the English Dream , Englishman home is his castle idea. I plan to argue that that we gave that to America during the colonial years and they have developed it to the natural end in America. It's time we took that work ethic and deferred gratification that is intrinsic within the American dream but now sadly lacking this side of the Atlantic....
I'll develop that later on in the week...for now
