As i sat down to begin writing a report or my trip from to Springfield, MO, in my hotel room, the something happens that shows just how this trip has gone thus far. My friend was opening a bottle of wine, to dull the pain of being in this place. Somehow, the side of the bottle burst, sending glass shards and white wine at my friend and into the floor.

I think I must never return to this town. First of all, all things are closed on sunday. Food is difficult to come by, without a chain, and don't even try to get into a strip clue. Even during the week, when you find 'decent' food it costs a fortune. There is rampent consumerism abounding, but I am staying across the street from a mostly dead mall. That dead mall seems to be the highlight of my trip.

I thought Norman was a hold of Jesusland, but this place really takes the asswater. The hotel shower likes to alternate from scalding to cold, they refuse to give me the promised bfast, the bar that never opens is down stairs and the pool gets locked down at 10. This is not isolated to the hotel. There are several bible colleges, where people learn primarily how not to drive. The one good bar i found kicked us out at 1:30 fo no good reason. Last call should not be at or before 1.

I also decided to explore the largest bass pro shop in the known galaxy. I didn't understand how large it was till i wondered through the main building. Scary shit. Nothing like selling black powder guns, no case, just a plastic wrapper. Oh well, i guess whatever turns them on.

Perhaps I will update more a little later. as sad as it is, I want to get back to exciting norman. Of course, I have to lecture again on tuesday, but that isn't too bad.
