Last night was amazing....I woke up in the middle of the night and it was raining and all of a sudden there was one bolt of lightening and one clap of thunder. Then it stopped raining and i thought, "fuck yeah, spring you're here". It put me in a great mood for the day. Honestly, sometimes I get a bit crazy during the winter, but this winter has been, by far, the best I've had in years. Sadly enough my little bro came to me and told me that he thinks he is "getting like me", in other words a touch of seasonal depression. It's upsetting bc it's my little bro and I don't want him to have to deal with things like that. I tend to view family members as "mom" or "sibling" and all of a sudden I'm realizing that there are all these issues and events that make them the person they are. I mean I know they all have their own lives but I didn't realize that they may struggle with problems that I've struggled with. I'm glad he came to me though and I hope I can be an awesome big sister.

Today I refound a Belle and Sebastian cd which also made me really happy. I love "refinding" cd's I haven't listened to in a while. I've always been a bit obsessed with them (i saw them a couple years ago with Rasputina...i know hells yeah!) but now that it's feeling all spring like and what not I felt the need to brush the dust off and pop um in. I don't know what it is, but Belle ans Sebastian screams spring music to me. I tend to do that, relate music to seasons. Does anyone else do that? I def need to rebuy "if you're feeling sinister" which I lost a couple years ago.....grrrrrr.

Tonight I was going to go to a drawing group but the model, who is an awesome person and beautiful, is also very very skinny. I don't think there is anything wrong with really skinny girls by any means but drawing them kind of sucks. I love drawing waists, hips, and boobs.....curves ...and she doesn't really have any. I'm thinking about trying to arrange my own group so I can have a model who is a bit more down my ally. If any local peps who enjoy drawing reads this HIT ME UP! There's a show that is going to be downtown this June, applications are due mid-March and I'm still trying to finish up some work so wish me luck! The other awesome part about spring is there are always a ton of art shows and art parties. Who doesn't love a good art party with cheap wine, live music, and a guy in a lobster suit (seriously there is always a guy at these openings, in a fucking lobster suit....to make it even better his name tag always says "bisque".) Omg, that reminds me, my studio neighbor moved out. They were only in there for a month and all they had in there was this huge bed with a spiderweb head board (it was really sweet) , anyway they were metal fabricators so I thought , well......maybe they are making home furnishings.....???? Yeah, they got kicked out for trying to make porn.....hilarious! I love working in public studios! For those who are interested I posted a few more painting pics. check that shit out! !
