Halloween 2007. As I drove up the streets towards Ryan's place, it made me smile to see the whole street filled with trick-or-treaters. Seems so long ago when i would go trick-or-treating. I always had to lie about going. I wasn't suppose to celebrate Halloween. lol But I still did!
Anyways when i arrived, and as i came inside Ryan's house. There they were. sitting there in a vase. My most favorite flowers in the whole wide world. Sunflowers... No one, except my parents have ever bought me flowers. And never has anyone bought me Sunflowers. You know some people take for granted being given flowers. But not me, no sir, I love those flowers. And as I look infront of me there they are...sitting on my table...so lovely...with there big yellow petals. Not long after i arrived, we left for the concert. The drive was pleasantly traffic-free.
I've never been to the Grove. It was nice. The opening act was interesting. The first few songs didn't grab my attention much, but as his set went on i started to like him. We were standing for a while before Regina Spektor came on the stage. But when she did, the crowd was showin' their love. There must have been at least a couple of drunk guys that night...i heard some grunts during her performance. lol. Her set was long. But it was awesome. She played baby jesus, music box, Apres moi, better, on the radio, field below, poor little rich boy and etc... I kept waiting for her to play Samson, and Us those are my fav. songs by her. I thought the show was over at one point but she came back and played more. She finally did Us, and i was soo happy. It was awesome being able to be there, watching her play and sing, and having Ryan's arms around me. Best feeling ever. The song that got to me was Real love, and it isn't even by her its by John Lennon, but the way she sang it was so beautiful. And those lyrics...those lyrics touch my heart everytime i hear them. Ryan if i kept squeezing your arm during that song, its because that song reminds me of being with you. "Seems all what i was really doin' was waiting for you." "Oh it's real love." She played my song samson...damn i love her piano playing. She was awesome. Last night was Bliss. Ryan if your goal was to sweep me off my feet like you said. Babe, =Goal accomplished.
I did not want to go home after such an epic night. ahh it feels nice to end every night with you.
