The first time I read your comment about Liverpudlian accents I though you were asking why there was a "d" in "grandfather". Now I realize.

You think that's strange-- People who live in Chester are Kestrians (I was a Kestrian for a year), but people who live in Manchester are Mancunians (not Mankestrians).
