I haven't had a proper update in a while. Here are a few tidbits I've been meaning to tell you.

  • Wolfy's passing has seriously disturbed me. Is it wrong to care this much about a pooch? I still wake up at night thinking and rethinking. I can't clear my head. My chest locks up everytime I see a dog. Maybe I'm just not good at dealing with death. A few years ago a friend of my parents died suddenly, with no warning, and I still can't get over the fact that she was there one day and gone the next. I'm not depressed. Just shaken.

  • The squirrel that lives in our roof--Louise--seems to have acquired a gentleman friend. At first we thought he was just calling on her, but now it seems he's moved in. There's been a lot of commotion up there lately. Perhaps they're remodelling to make room for a family.

  • I was allergic to eggs until I was sixteen. When I finally got to try them, they were a huge disappointment. How can something that looks so orange and sweet and yummy be so ... gross?! About a month ago I started craving eggs. How can this be? I've never really eaten them! They are now my favourite food. I've been trying them in all forms. I've discovered I like them slightly runny--preferrably poached or overeasy. No hardboiled. Bacon and toast MUST be on the side.

  • One night, Dogslife poured water from the Brita on my head.

  • Living in the city is great. I haven't moved my car in over a week (save for a quick trip to get ice cream at the fancy grocery store). We get to see our friends more often, and one particular very very good friend constantly. Sometimes we even have to watch so she doesn't see too much. I don't think you all realize just how neighbourly we really are.

  • I finished The Girl at the Lion d'Or and with it I might be done with Sebastian Faulks.

  • I finally got All the President's Men back. I think it's my favourite movie ever. That and House of Mirth. Don't worry. I think they're strange choices too.

I still think about my doggie and she's been gone for five years. it does get better with time, though.

try them with chees, hot peppers and lots of ketchup on top [taters near by].
