Erin told me that she considers that a birthday is actually our own personal New Year...

I agree with this. I am 24 today...never was before...never will be again...

It makes me think of the hardships and the happiness of this past year and the years before that...

Although things have been very rough lately, I have been basically happy...

I have my friends, both old and new...I have my family...I have my soul sister (Erin)...I have my best friend (Henry)...I have my health (although I have one hell of a cold right now)...and I have the rest of my life to look forward to...these are the things that make me happy and that I am grateful for...

The only thing missing is my mother...this is my 3rd birthday without her and it doesn't get any easier year by year...I will soon have to actually deal with it...and I will...I just don't think I am ready yet...

Today will be awesome...I can go to work (which sucks) and see my girls...Rachelle, Jenn, and Leslie (who is my designated driver tonight. Thank you Les!!!!).

Thank the Universe for everything that I have...as for the things that I don't...that will just make me stronger.
