It's that time of the year again... election time!!!
Before I went in to vote today I was shocked by the number of young adults in my life who were telling me they were not going to vote! Many of them said their reason behind not voting was because they didn't know the candidates well enough... well get EDUCATED people! Their second reason was that they thought regardless of who was voted in, it wasn't going to effect them at all... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! Two major issues that politicians discuss are the TTC and schools, and since this conversation was talked about amongst students who take the subway to school, I couldn't believe that they thought whoever was voted in was not going to effect their everyday life. Furthermore, the people whom I was chatting with were all women, and I for one am EXTREMELY proud to be a woman who has the RIGHT to vote, so why not exercise that right? Anyway, just food for thought :)
