We finally found a pub not to far from home that has pool tables, dart boards & bar food but isn't a frelling piss-hole! 
We don't get many chances to just go hang out, and it's great to have someplace close by finally. We of course spent a good part of our first night there making friendly with the bartender.
Always remember kids, the bartender at your local pub is your best friend. Tip them well and treat them with respect! It makes thier night more pleasant. And (if you really are nice and hit it off with them) you will find you get better service, bigger shots, and rarely will need to deal with assholes while in residence. I've found this to be true almost completely regardless of whether the bartender was male or female.
Now, for +50 points. It's an Irish (themed) pub named Honey Fitz - anyone know where the name comes from, without googling it!
