Let's see how many people drop off my friends list with this journal entry... 
Alison was a senior in college. Like most of her peers, she considered herself a liberal who was for distribution of wealth. She was disgusted that her father was a rather staunch Republican.
One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to higher taxes on the rich & the addition of more government welfare programs. Based what her friends and some of her professors said, she felt that her father harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought was his. She told her father this.
He stopped her and asked her point blank, how she was doing in school. She answered that she had a 4.0 GPA that was tough to maintain. She studied a lot, didn't have time to party like other people she knew, didn't even have time for a boyfriend!
Her father listened and then asked, "How's your friend Hillary doing?"
She replied, "Hillary's barely getting by. She has a 2.0 GPA, and all she takes are easy classes and she never studies. But she's popular, goes to all the parties all the time, and doesn't even show up for most classes because she's always hung over."
Alison's father then asked, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you'll both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."
Alison fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I worked really hard for mine, I did without and Hillary has done little or nothing, she played while I worked my ass off!"
The father smiled, winked, and said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."
I'm not much of a Bush fan (If McCain was running, I'd be thrilled), but he's the lesser of the 2 risks... You've all probably made your decisions, but try to resist following the hipster bandwagon, take a look at some nonpartisan sites (such as SpinSanity) that present the facts, and make your decision based on the issues.
And please don't drop me from your list just because you disagree with my politics.

I think he would have been awesome. It is ashame he wasn't at the end game
I am right there with ya Gigi! I won't say Bush all the way, but I will say thank goodness for no Kerry.
I have no bad words for Kerry people... I am proud of them for voting. Keep on doing it!
