Guess I shall write another blog.... is that weird if you do 2 in a day?? hmmm well anyways. Im in the mood for some talking. Last night over an evening of Smirnoff chased with vodka Rockstars, my boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend had a conversation that I guess stemmed from some reminiscing of our childhood family life. Talking about the "traditional family" versus the single parent family and the rolls that the parents played for their kids and what roles were involved based on their gender. I guess I see this alot because of my profession. Working in medical it appears that from tasks like confirming appointments and the actual presence of a man and his children is so rare. I cant tell you how often a father will answer the phone when I call and have no idea that their child has an appointment. Or suggests I "call the wife's cell because she handles all of that stuff".

I dont know about you but, when and if, I am in a family where my children's father and I still exist in a relationship, I should hope that he is involved enough in his child's life. Is that superficial? I mean, I just feel that , with understanding that the "traditional family" may not always be he case, if there is a home of child (ren), mom and dad- why should both parents not communicate enough to one another to converse about their children.

It is so refreshing to see fathers come in for the appointments with their children. Its always mom and children. Again, understanding that there can be the separation of parents etc but in the "traditional family" setting why cant there be mutual visits, or more men bringing their child in for eye exams. To me its just a big thing. A very important part of a child's life just as much as school and after school activities.

Then somehow we got into the debate of woman's roles versus men's in the "traditional family" blah blah blah.
well I was gonna elaborate on some of these issues and I guess the really funny thing is that I have to make dinner now lol so I have to cut this short hehe I dont have any kids so maybe for myself and the bf and maybe the cat and dog smilel.

Wow that ended on a very appropriate note lolol
