Why do I need such a powerful computer?
A talk I had with my golfing buddy Tim got me thinking about this. (No, not THAT kind of golf...even I haven't gone that far over to the dark side yet. Tim is the guy who routinely beats me senseless on the miniature golf course in Aiken. Beware anyone who brings his own damn putter to a...

I just ran across something rather surreal online tonight. There's this former SuicideGirl who's now on a board of directors for some "very important" children's charity. Now, she's all embarrassed by her former association with this website and is petitioning to get her photos removed.
Umm....has she ever heard of plausible deniability? Somehow I doubt that the people she works with at her charity are...

My fellow Americans,
I can think of no forum in which I'd rather to make this announcement. I'm making it official now and beating all my opponents to the punch: I'm announcing my candidacy for the Democratic Presidential nomination...in 2028. The way I see it, twenty-four years should be plenty of time to study the issues, build a campaign infrastructure, and perhaps most importantly...raise campaign...

Well, a guy can be slack with his blog once in a while, right? Not that there's much to report now, other than the fact that my orange-and-white, doesn't-know-he's-a-cat, furry little buddy Ziggy finally showed back up. He'd disappeared for a few days, causing no end of alarm at my house. After days of fruitless searching around the neighbourhood and numerous equally-pointless phone calls to...

Why am I so damn negative?
This thought occurred to me while reading back over my old entries. If somebody didn't know me before reading this, they'd probably consider me a real sourpuss who's definitely not someone worth getting to know. Yet, ironically, the people who actually KNOW (or think they know) me consider me a pretty easy-going, happy-go-lucky, friendly, honest, good-to-know kind of guy....

Barnwell, huh? Christ! I'm from Greenville originally, went to College of Charleston. I say head for the West Coast when you get the chance. I did a stint in New Orleans and a couple of years in San Fran before i ended up in Oregon. So far, Oregon wins.
Why do we have rooms that we don't even use?
Maybe it's a Southern thing, I don't know. But it does seem to be a fairly common phenomenon among the 'better' families I know...the floor plan of their dream houses will contain a "living room" in which no one actually lives and a "dining room" in which no one actually eats. They're easy to spot:...

Back to life, back to reality...
Yes, I went back to work and class today. I never thought I'd be happy to go back to a place as altogether soul-sucking as Strobel Tire, but after spending nearly five days staring at the walls in my room...any break in the monotony is greatly appreciated.
But at least my unexpected break gave me a chance to finish...

Happy leap day, everyone...and happy birthday, Joni Horton.
Joni, for those of y'all outside of Barnwell, was this girl who was a year ahead of me in high school who I had this mad crush on for years. But I, being the pussy I was (and still am, really,) never told her about it, and she wound up dating this other guy named Greg, as...

Well, here we go. A blog on what SOME people (particularly the Christian Coalition that dominates everything here in the Deep South
) would consider a 'pornographic' website. This ought to do wonders for my political aspirations. Like I haven't already ruined 'em by joining the Communist Party USA in college and by going to every anti-Bush rally within 150 miles of here since 2001....
